R/H is packing up the collection to get ready for the Copenhagen Fashion Week and Gallery show. This time we will do our best to make our first official runway show become an experience that you won`t forget. As the Copenhagen Fashion Week is getting closer and closer, the R/H team is spending their hot summer getting ready for their first official runway show (on Friday the 5th of August at 1 p.m. at the Royal Danish Music Hall / Copenhagen). We just arrived back from Copenhagen Fashion Week to hear some very happy news from the Finnish film scene. Sara Melleri, our friend and an attitude idol, a beautiful actress and a mother-to-be seems to be everywhere in the media after receiving the Finnish Oscar, the Jussi prize, for the Best Supporting Actress for the movie “Sisko tahtoisin jäädä”. Sara Melleri accepted the Jussi trophy wearing an R/H French Peaces silk/leather dress from our AW/10/11 collection. Congratulations Sara Melleri! We are so proud of you!

Even if Liisa Jokinen did not like the lookbook shoes, we love her for posting about R/H on her blog! And I still have a feeling that she found a thing or two to fall in love with. Thank you Liisa!

Today morning after landing in the grey but beautiful Copenhagen/Denmark we spotted a delightful post on Claudia Cifu`s blog. Thank you Claudia! You made us happy and glad. Sweet surprises indeed! Once more a warm hello from year 2010!

This year has been an exciting adventure for R/H. We are happy to be alive and enjoying the last bits of December. For the next days we will be cooling off and enjoying the super white Finnish Christmas.

We had such a good time in Copenhagen and Paris at the fashion weeks. We met super people and made new friends. So many great people out there! We are thankful to all stylists, models, bloggers, journalists, PR girls and boys, photographers, make-up artists, fashion editors, graphic designers, printers, delivery guys, office neighbors, tailors and dressmakers, pattern makers, buyers and other people who R/H has had the honor to work with this year. We also want to thanks all our dear friends and especially our family members. Thank you Moms and Dads for finding solutions to our everyday problems and being there for us. It means the world to us. Kiitos.

After Christmas Holidays it is finally time to start the season Spring Summer 2011. R/H is proud to have stockists in various cities in various countries and so far two continents. Starting in the beginning of year 2011 R/H will be available in stores like WOOD WOOD/Berlin, WOOD WOOD/Vienna, CONVENT/New York, DONN YA DOLL/Copenhagen, MY O MY/Helsinki, SUPERMUKAVA/Tampere, TELEVISIO/Turku and NON BOUTIQUE/Oulu. R/H`s own webshop will be launched in January 2011.

Our first plans for the year 2011 is to visit Copenhagen Fashion Week and show at MOSHROOM. We will be at NY Fashion Week in February to check out our PR partner AGENCY V and their showroom in Meatpacking District. Maybe we will see you there! We are excited who we will meet next year. Hopefully many new friends as well as many old ones!

We have been quite busy borrowing out R/H pieces for magazines while they`re preparing exciting fashion stories for the spring/summer season – believe or not, the summer is coming! Emilia Laitanen shot some R/H pieces for a thing or two in Trendi Magazine and she also made a little presentation about R/H for her blog. We are happy about Emilia`s blog post and excited about the future issues of Trendi. If only we wouldn`t have to wait any longer!

We Are So Good Together Blog writes about the R/H spring/summer 2011 collection. We like this blog! They introduce a lot of fashion brands – young and older – like Jeffery Monteiro and Family Affairs – mixed with mellow city styles. Even if it is in Hungarian some of you can still get a hang of it! We are So Good Together, thank you for the R/H post!

Every year the Finnish president  invites some selected people to come and celebrate the Finnish Independence Day in her/his castle. This year R/H was honored to design evening gowns for two party guests, playwright/dramaturge Heini Junkkaala and animator Anne Brede. These two amazingly fine ladies both had their own individual evening look. Heini wore an R/H black/white silk dress with the R/H “French Peaces” print. Anne wore an R/H satin/chiffon silk dress with tuxedo trousers underneath the chiffon hem. The beautifully matching jewelry was designed and hand-made by Jaana Junkkaala/Pioni Design.
Thank you girls and designers, it was a pleasure working with you!

What better way to get Christmas presents for friends, girls, boyfriends and girlfriends than by buying art, culture and R/H design! It`s time for Designtori in Tampere! This Sunday the 5th of December R/H will be at Pakkahuone among other fantastic design people like My O My, ArelaLizza, KaksiTvå etc. Be sure to come by between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and get your own Lucky Eyes, RaiRai Bags and Square Scarfs, wrapped up and ready for Christmas Eve!

I hope you guys are doing fine! We are enjoying cold snowy winter days here in Helsinki, Finland. At the moment we are busy with 2 things. The f/w 11/12 collection and 2 dresses for the annual Independence Day Reception (on 6th of December) hosted by the Finnish president Tarja Halonen. We R/H are not going but some fine ladies will have the honor. We are very happy for them and we hope they`ll be happy when the dresses are ready! We`ll keep you updated. Dear readers, not often have we been as happy, thrilled and excited as we are right now!
The reason for this feeling is the Danish, super cool, way of life, concept house WOOD WOOD. Beginning next season – SPRING-SUMMER-2011 - the R/H collection will be available in WOOD WOOD shops in Berlin and Vienna. We will definitely tell you more when the time comes.
